Quartz

The decorative chip and quartz specialist.

Transform your driveway, patio, garage, interior space with quartz crystals! Quartz floors add unequalled good looks and durability that has been proven through years of use in industrial and commercial buildings.

Quartz crystals are a melding of nature and technology. They start with quartz, one of the world’s hardest minerals. A ceramic coating is bonded to each piece of quartz. This combination creates a crystal that is both tough and beautiful. Its color refuses to bleed or fade even when exposed to harsh sunlight, strong chemicals and mechanical wear. Our system permanently bonds the quartz to the concrete using epoxy/polyurea resins at a typical thickness of 1/8 to 1/6 of an inch. These floors will stand the test of time.

Frequently Asked Questions About 3M Quartz Floors

  • Are the finished floors slippery?

No. They are very slip resistant.

  • What can damage my new quartz floor?

Anything that breaks the concrete can damage the coating. If a heavy object like a sledgehammer strikes with enough force, the concrete will fail. Anytime the concrete fails, the coating could be damaged.

  • Other companies quoted me a “granite” looking coating. Is it the same as yours?

No. The confusion comes from the use of the “granite look.” While both systems use epoxy, we use the epoxy as the binder that bonds the quartz to the concrete. The quartz is the material that gives our floors a significant durability advantage as well as being the real beauty of our floors. Other systems (also offered by IronDrive) use decorative chips to simulate a granite surface. Our quartz is stronger than the concrete it is applied to as well as being 10 times the thickness of a decorative chip floor.

  • How long will my floor last?

Without suffering any physical damage, quartz floors cannot be worn through and can only be removed by mechanical means.

  • How long does installation take?

Generally 3-4 days, shorter when incorporating polyurea as the binder and topcoat. A commercial or residential non vehicle application can be installed in as little as one day with a 2-hour return to foot traffic.

  • How is my floor prepared?

Same as all IronDrive floors – see surface prep.
